French rail strikers clash with police
As the French rail workers enter their second week of protests, things turn to violence after strikers have clashed with police forces in front of the parliament in Paris.
The mob is angry that the government will reform the rail sector without being able to reduce its soaring debt and the outcome will materialize in many job losses.
The SNCF, rail service operator, has hired thousands of extra workers to ensure that trains will still function as normal as possible during the strike, especially since France is about to hit the peak of its tourist season and high school students have their final exams this week.
This has been, after two weeks of protests, France’s longest rail strike.
