Surprising results in Europa League
Not only the UEFA Champions leagues is underway, but also the first phases of Europa League. A total number of 29 matches were played last night and obviously lots of surprises were recorded.
Of course being the third qualifying round there are a lot of teams with basically no name in European football, but others that from time to time reach upper stages. Surprisingly, Slovan Liberec lost in Romania, 0-3 to Astra Ploiesti a team who is participating in European competitions only for the second time.
Despite having behind tough battles in the Premier league, Hull City could not beat Trencin, and scored no goal. Club Brugge trashed Broendby at home 3-0, while Spanish side, Real Sociedad won at home, 2-0 over Aberdeen. Here's a full list of all results recorded last night, UEFA.com.
Thes second leg of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League is scheduled on the 7th of August.
