Celtic trashed in Poland
Europe's most important domestic leagues are bound to start next month, but top level football has already started. A total of 12 matches from the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League were played last night.
The biggest upset and probably the biggest surprise was recorded in Poland where Legia Warsaw trashed Celtic Glasgow 4-1 after leading by one. "We started well and then conceded and easy goal. We lost our heads and they had easy chances. We need much more commitment because we did not stay together and that is what concerns me. We still have a chance in the second leg,” said Ronny Deila, Celtics' head coach.
Another major surprise was produces by AEL Limasol. The team from Cyprus beat Zenit St. Petersburg 1-0. Hulk and Vitsel tried as hard as they could to overturn the deficit, but AEL managed to hold up.
French side Lille won away at Grasshoppers 2-0, Feyernord lost at home to Besiktas 1-2 while Helsinki JK and Apoel Nicosia were tied at two.
