Nadal was knocked out by a wildcard
It's the biggest surprise of the Men's tournament at Wimbledon so far. World number one and first seed, Rafael Nadal was knocked out by a 19 year old Australian. The young player received a wild card to enter the famous tournament.
It's widely known that Rafael Nadal does not like the grass surface. That why he is not called the “King of Grass” but the “King of Clay”. However, the entire tennis world was shocked when the Spaniard was eliminated by tennis player that no one has head about.
Australian teenager Nick Kyrgios received a wild card to enter the tournament and had most probably the match of his life. His huge serve guided him to a four set victory 7-6, 5-7, 7-6, 6-3. Ranked 144, Kyrgios became the first man outside top 100 ATP to beat a world number one in a Grand Slam since 1992.
Recent years have been bad for Nadal at Wimbledon. This was the third time in a row when the Spaniard fails to reach the quarter finals.
