City has a clear path for the title
It is definitely the biggest and the fastest comeback in 2013-2014 Premier League season. It's also the result that almost sent the trophy to Manchester. Liverpool led Crystal Palace 3-0 by the 80 minute marker, but failed to win.
With two rounds left in the season, Liverpool almost had the domestic trophy in its back pocket, but them came Crystal Palace. Determined to get the job done, Liverpool pressed on and managed to score three times thanks to Allen, Sturridge and Suarez. With ten minutes left, Liverpool was almost celebrating the win, but everything shattered in just seven minutes. It was exactly the time Crystal Palace needed to level the game.
Delaney scored first and Gayle managed a double to bring Rodgers' players to their knees. Voted the player of the year, Suarez could not take it and collapsed on the pitch at the end. Liverpool still leads the league with 81 points, but City is second, one point and one game short. Now, Liverpool needs a miracle to win the trophy. That miracle can be either Aston Villa or West Ham.
Disappointed after Liverpool's performance, Brendan Rodgers admitted his team conceded the championship. “It's obviously very frustrating as you can imagine. For 75 minutes we were outstanding in the game. We played football, we scored goals and created many chances to get one or two more and them we concede 12 minutes to go. It's as simple as that. Manchester City now has two home games and I expect them to go and win it,” said Rodgers.
