Aragon double win for Tom Sykes
It’s been a very good weekend for rider Tom Sykes and the Kawasaki Racing Team after winning two out of two races at Motorland Aragon, during the first European round of the 2014 World Superbike Championship, in Spain.
In the first race, the dice had been casted right from the first lap when Sykes and his Kawasaki gained first position and remained unchallenged for the rest of the race, cruising to the finish.
Loris Baz, his teammate, came on second place while Jonathan Rea finished on third, reaching the podium for the first time this year.
David Giugliono who is racing for the Ducati team had a streak of bad luck when, in the final lap, he crushed his bike and lost his position on the second place, finishing on a disappointing eighth position.
The second race was flared up at the end when Aprilia Racing Team’s Marco Melandri challanged the leading Kawasaki duo during the final laps. Nonetheless, Melandri still had to settle for third place as Sykes and Baz managed to maintain their previous podium positions.
