The search for the Boieng 777 airplane was displaced with more than 1000 km
The search operations for the Boieng 777 airplane have been displaced with about 1,100 kilometers north-east from the original site, following the emergence of a 'new credible track' announced Australia Friday.
"The new information we have is based on a continuous analysis of the data recorded by the radar, between the South China Sea and the Strait of Malacca, before losing contact with the radar" of the aircraft, announced the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), which coordinates the search operations.
These data "show that the plane was flying faster than we previously estimated, which explains the higher fuel consumption and the reduction of the possible distance traveled by the plane to south, in the Indian Ocean," he added AMSA.
Analysis of the radar data was provided by the international investigation team, which was set up in Malaysia.
