Green Oslo by 2035

Norwegian government is one of the leading ones in Europe when it comes to green technology and environmental laws. It plans to free Oslo of fossil fuel vehicles in a matter of two decades.

The Norway Labour Party initiated this measure as being part of a bigger environmental policy. “We must now set clear boundaries for how long we're going to be allowed to drive in Oslo with conventional cars. The time span will give car manufacturers the opportunity to adapt so we can have a transition to non-polluting cars,” said the leader of Norwegian Labout party, Jan Bohler.

Norway is the number one country in the world regarding the adoption of electric cars. Electric cars are closely followed by hybrid cars. Almost ten percent of all cars sold in Norway are electric and figures show about 1,186 electric cars are sold every single month.

Between October and December of 2013, the best selling cars in the country were electric vehicles. The new Tesla S model led the way, closely followed by Nissan Leaf.
