Thai Prime Minister dismissed for abuse of power
Thailand's PM Yingluck Shinawatra was removed from office by the Constitutional Court for violations of Constitution.
"The defendant has abused her position as Prime Minister," said the judge. "Her prime ministership has ... ended." She was found guilty by the Court of unlawfully reassigning National Security Council chief Thawil Pliensri in September 2011, for the benefit of her party.
Thailand's Supreme Administrative Court found her actions illegal in March and the senior security official was reinstated.
"I didn't do anything against the law," Yingluck said in her defense. "I have performed my duty in the administration with the intention of benefiting the country."
