Scrambled jet alarms western France
The unexplained disappearance of MH 370 flight made all air traffic controllers, all around the world, more cautious. France had to instant scramble a jet fighter after a civilian plane lost radio contact over its borders.
Western France was struck by multiple thunders on late Sunday. But the skies were clear. It was the thunder released by a Dessault Rafale fighter jet breaking the sound barrier. The jet was scrambled after A United Airlines Boeing fling bound to Washington lost contact with air traffic controller over western France. The airliner left Rome, Italy, while the incident occurred less than one hour after.
The French jet scrambled reached the sound barrier within minutes after taking off, somewhere 10,000 meters above Nantes. The jet made eye contact within minutes and radio contact was re-established. However, the “sonic boom” was so loud, numerous people around Bordeaux called local authorities to report various explosions.
French military officials confirmed the incident and stated in these incidents the jet fighter deployed position itself on the left side of the airliner with the pilot in full view so any problems could be potentially identified. Last year, about 70 similar situations were reported in French air space.
