Red Bull is returning to MotoGP
The famous energy drink company is highly involved in sports and especially motorsports. Red Bull announced it is returning to MotoGP after a 13 years gap and it will sponsor Repsol Honda team.
The Austrian company announced a two year deal with Repsol Honda, World Champions Marc Marquez' team. However, both sides declined to reveal the figures involved in the deal. According to Honda Racing Corporation, Red Bull will post their large logo on both Repsol Honda bikes.
Honda and Red Bull always had close ties especially with the current pilots. Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrose both ended up in MotoGP thanks to Red Bull. Specialists say the European brand wants to win the battle with “Monster”. The American energy drink is already present in MotoGP and it is sponsoring Yamaha. Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo both have partnerships with the American company and both carry the Monster logo on their bikes.
Despite the figures involved in the deal were undisclosed, sources in the circuit claim it is in the “tens of millions of dollars family”. Honda pays Maquez and Pedrosa with 12 million euro combined just in salaries.
