Lufthansa named top European airline for 7th time
Airlines have their own Oscar awards and in this year’s event Germany’s Lufthansa went home with the biggest prize.
Lufthansa was declared, for a seventh time, Europe’s top airline during the World Travel Awards Europe yearly event.
Among the main reasons for which the German airline company manages to stay atop is that it has one of the largest fleet of long-haul planes, 91% of which offer air travelers free wifi during flights.
Next line, after Lufthansa, came UK’s British Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways.
EasyJet, on the other hand, scored a top place in Europe’s low-cost carriers companies.
Airports were also awarded prizes and this year Switzerland’s Zurich airport was named the best one to be in.
