The Glazers set to sell a fraction of Manchester United
The Glazers decided to sell a part of their shares at Manchester United on the New York Stock Exchange. The Glazers, majority owners at the premier league club plan to raise almost 90 million Pounds by selling of eight million shares.
Although it might seem a large number, eight million shares equals five percent of the entire business. It is the second time the Glazers are selling their shares via stock listing. In 2012 they sold about ten percent of their entire shares.
The Glazers bought Manchester United in 2005 for 790 million Pounds. In the time span, the club almost doubled its worth. The announcement came shortly after United shares reached 19.31 dollars per unit.
Even if they sell five percent of the club, Malcom Glazer's six children will still own more than 80 percent of the club's total shareholding.
