UBS art collection in Italy
MILAN - UBS presents the first exhibition in Italy! It displays art works from the famous contemporary UBS Art Collection.
Starting the 21st of March and lasting till the 21st of June 2014, the visitors in Milan have plenty of time to come and admire this splendid exhibition, hosted at the first floor of the GAM - Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Milan.
Along with this event, there is also a start for a new partnership between UBS and GAM which will have results in developing and promoting Milan’s most prestigious cultural institutions.
Works on paper from the UBS Art Collection gathers the artistic production on paper through 50 works by 33 acclaimed international artists, including Frank Auerbach, Charles Avery, Georg Baselitz, Troy Brauntuch, Chuck Close, John Currin, Lucian Freud, Robert Gober, Jenny Holzer, Martin Kippenberger, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Longo, Sigmar Polke, Ed Ruscha, Jim Shaw, Cy Twombly and Robin Winters. The curator for the UBS art collection is Francesco Bonami.
The exhibition is organized thematically: between the works, between the works and the artists and between the works and the location. Year after year this art collection will be available for the exhibition.
This project is made to support art and culture in Italy and also to develop a historic, architectural and artistic gem in the city of Milan.
UBS Italy, which serves private clients in the country, has decided to raise its profile in Galleria d’Arte Moderna GAM, to make an innovative channel for relations with the Bank’s clients, as well as make its collection available to the public.
