
Three exquisite diamonds on auction in Geneva
GENEVA - Sotheby's Geneva announces three exceptional diamonds for 13th of May 2014 Auction of Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels.
In addition to this, the historical Victory Diamond was named in honour of the allied victory in World War II. To be more specific, it's about a step-cut diamond weighing 31.34 carats. The rough was discovered in 1945 in the African “Woyie River” and was then the largest alluvial rough diamond ever found, weighing a massive 770 carats.
The Victory Diamond formerly belonged to Florence Gould, celebrated as one of the truly great collectors of jewellery of the 20th Century.
A third exquisite piece is the Spectacular Diamond Ring by Graff which is one of the largest known round diamonds.
