The lucky Fabergé egg
A lucky Fabergé egg is on display at Wartski in London until Thursday 17 April.
Lucky, due to the fact that, being previously lost, is was recently bought by a Midwest American seller for its estimated scrap metal price of $14,000. The unknown dealer was unaware about its real value until, after failing seven times to re-sell it, he contacted the London dealer Wartski, who identified it and brokered a deal for a reported £20m.
The Fabergé egg is reportedly the third of only 50 Imperial Russian Eggs. Kieren McCarthy, director of Wartski, didn't confirm the reported price nor did he reveal the identity of the new owners.
