
The creator of Alien dies at 74
H.R. Giger, creator of the famous alien from Ridley Scott's films, died after he fell down the stairs in his Zurich home.
Giger's works brought film producer Ridley Scott an Oscar for specials effects for the 1980's 'Alien' movie.
The Swiss artist had a passion strange dreamscapes which he painted in large formats. His pictures usually portrayed humans and machined bond together.
'Biomechanical' was the term Giger used to best describe his vision.
In 1998, Giger opened his own museum in Gruyeres, Switzerland, where he displayed his own works among other from Salvador Dali, Dada and Ernst Fuchs.
In 2013, the artist received a place in prestigious Science Fiction Hall of Fame, alongside other creators like JRR Tolkien and David Bowie.
