A pixelated masterpiece on the church floor
French artist Miguel Chevalier brought some stunning digital design to create a pixellated masterpiece on the floor of the Sacré Coeur church in Casablanca, Morocco.
The work, called “Magic Carpets 2014” is an ode to traditional Moroccan craftsmanship and it references everything from microorganisms to embroidery.
"'Magic Carpets' revisits the tradition of Islamic art, in particular the mosaic and the carpets. This world of colors and forms in movement, invites us into the magic universe of the 'Arabian Nights' and the flying carpets." said the artist.
