WTA's sensation rushes into the French Open final

Simona Halep looked almost unstoppable in this edition of the French Open. The 22 year old Romanian tennis player qualified into the final without loosing a single set all tournament long. She will face Maria Sharapova in the last act.

Halep proved once again her season is not based on luck. Fourth seed knocked out former semifinalist Andrea Petkovic in consecutive sets 6-2, 7-6. She became the only player not to lose a single set all tournament long and the player to lose the least amount of game. The 22 year old was stunned after making it into the final. “I didn't know how to feel and I can not say because I'm blocked. It's amazing to play the final here in Paris. It was a very tough match emotional also and I was very nervous,” said Halep.

Halep will face former French Open winner Maria Sharapova. “I'm happy with the result because I'm in the final. I don't think I played my best tennis, but to be in the semifinals of a Grand Slam and winning a match where I felt my opponent played exceptionally well, I fought and I found a way to win and I'm proud about it,” said Sharapova.

Sharapova and Halep met this year in the final of the Madrid Masters Final. Despite winning the first set 6-1, Halep went on to lose the tournament in three sets 6-1, 2-6, 3-6.
