Wizards knocked out Chicago Bulls
Washington Wizards is the second team to secure a spot in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The team in the capital city knocked out Chicago Bulls after winning game five in “Windy City”.
For a third time in a row, Chicago Bulls are knocked out despite having home court advantage. Fifth seeded Wizards stunned the NBA. Not only they managed to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2007-2008, the Wizards moved on into the second round.
Game five in Chicago was an offensive struggle. Low percentages and low scoring was the story of the night. Throughout the four quarters, only Chicago Bulls managed to score once more than 25 points. Washington won three periods and the game by six points, 75-69.
John Wall and Nene combined for 44 points and carried the team into the semifinals. “We trust each other as a family, and that is why we are playing so well right now,” said Wall after the game.
Washington Wizards will face the winner of the Indiana Pacers – Atlanta Hawks duel, for a place in the Eastern Conference finals. Atlanta leads the way 3-2 and only needs one more victory to advance forward.
