Wenger signs a three year extension deal with Arsenal
Arsene Wenger has signed a new three year deal with the club to stay as a manager until 2017. Wenges has been managing Arsenal since September 1996. He has the longest serving still active career with a club in Premier League.
He led Arsenal to eight major trophies and one UEFA Champions League final. However, gunners fans had to wait nine years for the team to win another domestic trophy. Arsenal snatched the 2014 FA Cup 3-2 after being down two goals.
Wenged was the “director” of the greatest Arsenal team ever that won the 2003-2004 Premier League trophy without suffering a single loss. The team was called by media “the Invincibles” and featured french legends like Thiery Henry and Patrick Vieira.
However, not only good news are coming from Emirates Stadium. The club announced Bacary Sagna will leave after seven years with the gunners. “It was an honor to wear Arsenal's t-shirt. I have spent magic moments here although I we did not won many trophies,” said Sagna. His contract was expiring and Arsenal offered him a 80,000 Pounds per week salary, but Manchester City offered him 150,000. He is the fourth player to leave Arsenal for City after Adebayor, Nasri and Kolo Toure.
