Thriller in Milan
The most awaited game in European basketball turned out to be a story teller. Maccabi Tel Aviv won the Euroleague trophy after a over time in Milan, Italy.
The Israeli side reached the final after knocking out CSKA Moscow in the semifinals, while Real Madrid trashed Spanish arch-rivals FC Barcelona in the same stage. The final was balanced and Real Madrid managed to send the game into over time after a late run. However, the extra period was dominated by Maccabi who snatched it 25-13 and the victory 98-86.
This was Maccabi's sixth Euroleague trophy and third in the last decade. On the other side, Real Madrid lost the final for the second year in a row. Maccabi's Tyrese Rice was the best scorer of the final with 26 points and named MVP.
