The 'sheikhs' of Premier League
Manchester City secured its second Premier league trophy in three years. Football in England is dominated by the two teams in Manchester with City and United, each winning the championship two times in the last four seasons.
The 2013-2014 season was all about Manchester City. The “citizens” won the final round at City of Manchester Stadium over West Ham 2-0. Nasri and Kompany scored the two goals that secured the trophy and released the madness. On the pitch, outside the stadium, in the streets of Manchester and in the dressing room.
Hundreds of liters of champagne poured while the players and their coach, Manuel Pellegrini celebrated the trophy.
“It's really hard to say how I feel. This is the Premier League, the beauty of it. A month ago we were no where near the trophy. That's why, the Premier League, probably is the hardest one to win. Any league is tough to win, but here it's never over until it's over. I can't really describe how hard it is to win the trophy and we did it two times in the last three years,” said James Milner having the Premier league medal in his hands.
Everything started to change for Manchester City in 2008, when the club was acquired by Abu Dhabi United Group and became one of the wealthiest in the world.
