Petr Cech, Chelsea goalkeeper, will miss season due to injury
Petr Cech suffered a shoulder injury during the UEFA Champions League semi-final match with Atletico Madrid, which ended with a draw, 0-0.
Moreover, captain John Terry also suffered a leg injury as he limped out of the field during the second half of the Vicente Calderon game. Luckily, though, he will be able to play in the Lisbon finals, if Chelsea reaches that stage.
Things look more gloomy for Cech who injured himself while punching the ball from underneath his crossbar at which point David Luiz pushed Raul Garcia into the goalkeeper who landed heavily on the ground.
Cech was replaced by Mark Schwarzer for the remaining of the match.
‘Petr Cech's season over. Don't ask me technically, but season over.’ said Mourinho after the game.
Now, Chelsea’s goalkeeper will watch the final 3 matches of the Premier League and the conclusions to the European campaign from a distance.
