Pelegrini: Aguero could not be recovered
Manchester City stands alone, face to face, with the Premier league title. Whatever the result, the “citizens” will win or lose the title on their hands. Pelegrini's team has two more battles to secure the trophy and the first one is against Aston Villa.
With a victory tonight, City could move up in the points classification. However, things do not look great for Pellegrini. Argentinian striker, Sergio Aguero has been ruled out with a groin injury. “Sergio Aguero could not be recovered one hundred percent after his groin problem so he is not on the squad list. Yaya Toure is up for the game. He did not play recently 90 minutes because there was a risk. He was coming after an injury,” Manchester City coach said.
After Liverpool was held back by Crystal Palace and only got a draw, City has the first chance of winning. Pelegrini said he did not watch the match, but it was a typical Premier League result. “It's very difficult to win games in Premier League. You can not be sure of winning, until the end. That is why I said the battle for the title is still on when we lost to Liverpool. It was not over because every team drops points. It happens,” Pelegrini added.
Manchester City needs at least four points out off the last six to secure the Premier League trophy. The Citizens are facing Aston Villa tonight at home and West Ham later this week.
