Ozil – man of the match at 'Emirates'

Arsenal made a move to secure the fourth position in the Premier league, the last one that guarantees UEFA Champions League presence for the next season. The gunners trashed Newcastle 3-0 at Emirates Stadium.

Arsene Wenger's team jumped directly into the game and scored after 25 minutes. Laurent Koscielny deflected in Santi Cazorla's free kick. It did not take long for Arsenal to double the advantage. Minutes before halftime, Mesut Ozil netted the ball from close range and the gunners were leading comfortably.

The second half shared the same story. Midway through the half, Ozil crossed the ball from the left side and Giroud headed the ball in for a 3-0 victory. Arsenal sealed the victory, the three points and at the same time, handed Newcastle a sixth consecutive loss.

With two rounds left, Arsenal holds the fourth position. The gunners are four points ahead of Everton and on the verge of securing the Champions League position. Arsene Wenger was happy about the result and talked about Mesut Ozil, declared the man of the match. “We had a slow and cautious start, and progressively became stronger. After about 20 minutes it was a great performance. Mesut Ozil is getting stronger in every game now and he is refreshed. Now he looks sharp again that's why his performance is good. I believe that the first season is always adaptation in the Premier League, but he brought fantastic technique and intelligence passing,” said Wenger after the game.

In the last two rounds of the season, Arsenal will face West Brom at home and Norwich away.
