Next stop: The Eastern Conference
Miami Heat qualified into the NBA Eastern Conference final after knocking out Brooklyn Nets. The reigning champions won game five in Miami, 96-94, and the series at the same time 4-1.
Miami struggled early and the visitors took a seven point advantage after the first half. The third quarter was also taken by the Nets, Kidd's players were already thinking about game six. However, the final minutes were a nightmare for the visitors.
Lebron James was once again brilliant in the defence, got a few steals and fueled a comeback to take game 5, 96-94 and the series. James had 29 points, followed closely by Wade with 28. The Miami Heat qualified for a fourth consecutive year in the Eastern Conference Finals.
San Antonio Spurs also made it to the finals, but in the Western Conference. The Texans did not lost any quarter against Portland Trail Blazers and snatched game five, 104-82.
