Nadal and Ivanovic in French Open Day 5 top three
The shire number of intense games played at Roland Garros produce some great shots. The first week was no exception. The beautiful Ana Ivanovic made one of the most difficult and also stunning shots of the day.
Nadal could not miss the top three, but he was on the other side of the net. Dominic Thiem found a way to reach the third spot with a magical drop shot. The shot was so good, not even Rafael Nadal the “King of the Clay” could reach it. However, Nadal went on to win the game in consecutive sets 6-2, 6-2, 6-3.
Ana Ivanovic clinched the second spot with a hidden shot ball that stunned Ukrainian Elina Svitolina. Ivanovic won eventually 7-5, 6-2.
The number one spot was snatched by Frenchman Richard Gasquet with a dagger forehand that almost ripped the ball apart. He qualified for into the third round after knocking out Carlos Berlocq 7-6, 6-4, 6-4.
