Miami Heat took game one of the semifinal
Sweeping the regular season series did not help Brooklyn Nets at all in the playoffs. The reigning NBA champions, Miami Heat lead the semifinal, 1-0 after winning the first game at American Airlines Arena in Florida.
Brooklyn Nets had the mental advantage over the Heat after the regular season victories. It was the only team in the league to snatch all direct matches against Miami Heat. However, last night it was all about the Heat. The first half was balanced with the home team having a three point advantage after two periods, 46-43.
The second half on the other side was a blowout. Miami won the third quarter by ten and the last one by eight points for a 107 – 86 victory. It was their first victory over the Nets, but the one that counts. “I think the most positive thing was the rhythm that we were in. It seemed like we didn't take much time at all,” said Lebron James after the game.
Back in Texas, Portland Trail Blazers went back to the school of basic basketball. San Antonio Spurs won game one 116-92 in a game they never trailed. French point guard, Tony Parker was again the mastermind. He scored 33 points and delivered nine assists to lead the team. Lamarcus Aldridge had a double-double with 32 points and 14 rebounds, but his efforts were futile and the Blazers are down one. Next game is scheduled tomorrow night in San Antonio.
