League 1 trophy stays in Paris for a second year in a row
Paris is celebrating after PSG managed to retain its crown in French football. Their celebration was spoiled by Rennais who won at Parc des Princes 2-1, but Monaco failed to win and sent the trophy in the capital city for a second time in a row.
Paris Saint Germain could not have a better start. Argentinian striker Ezequiel Lavezzi scored after just 3 minutes. With their eyes on the trophy, Laurent Blanc's players lost focus and Rennais turned the result. Kadir and Paul Georges Ntep scored midway through the first half, to complete the comeback.
PSG's coach even send out on the pitch Swedish football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic to try and level the score. However, the Swedish striker came from a hamstring injury and couldn't do anything to win. The loss did not upset PSG and their fans to much because Monaco failed to win at home against Guingamp and sent the trophy to Parc des Princes. It is the second consecutive championship win for PSG. Blanc's squad was carried by Zlatan who is the most prolific striker in the league with 25 goals, followed by Cavani with 16.
