La Liga title race is still on
FC Barcelona is still in pursuit of the La Liga title after winning away 3-2 over Villareal. The Catalans mounted a comeback in 30 minutes after being two goals down.
Barcelona failed to reach the goal in the first half and it looked like everything was falling apart for the Spanish champions after Villareal entered the break with a one goal advantage. Gracia Calmache scored first and a few minutes into the second half, Trigueros Munoz doubled the advantage.
However, the last 30-35 minutes of the game were all about Barcelona. The former champions exerted more and more pressure on the opposing defense and eventually Villareal's defense cracked. De Abreu scored an own goal midway through the half. Musacchio scored another own goal to level the score. Seven minutes before the end, Messi scored for 3-2 and pulled off a superbe comeback for FC Barcelona.
Atletico Madrid is still leading the points classification after a 1-0 win over Valencia. Barcelona is second with 84 points, four behind, while Real Madrid is third with 82 points, but one game short.
