Kittel takes stage three of the Giro d'Italia
German bike rider, Marcel Kittel is unbeatable on the road. Kittel won stage three of the Giro d'Italia after an impressive sprint. Giant-Shimano's rider has already won two stages.
Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland hosted the first three stages of the Giro d'Italia 2014. First stage, a team time trial was won by Orica GreenEdge, but after that is was all about Kittel. The German rider won stage 2 in Belfast and the third one in Dublin after two great performances at the final sprint.
Kittle already leads the points classification (red t-shirt) and he is considered by everyone the main contender for the jersey. He got the best present for his birthday by winning the stage in style.
Giro d'Italia will hit Italian soil tomorrow with the fourth stage. The peloton will run between Giovinazzo and Bari, 112 flat kilometers. Michael Matthews leads the general classification, eight seconds ahead of Alessandro Petacchi and ten of Daniel Oss.
