Japan is working hard to prepare the World Cup
Japan can consider itself lucky after not getting the toughest group at the World Cup in Brazil, but preparations don't seem to be working well for the team. Last night, Japan beat Cyprus in a friendly game only 1-0.
Uchida scored Japan's only goal against Cyprus, a team considered by everyone a weak adversary. Japan's manager Alberto Zaccheroni was not happy by his team performance, while Japanese star Shinji Kagawa was disappointed because he could not score.
“My players know that in the World Cup we need to shot a different commitment. It was not the right evening to request this kind of engagement. I just wanted to check their level,” said Zacceroni. “Scoring one goal is not enough. We need to continue to practice as a team and with this objective in mind look to play better next game,” Kagawa added.
At the world Cup in Brazil, Japan was sent to Group C along with Colombia, Ivory Coast and Greece.
