Is Atletico Madrid about to disunite?
Atletico Madrid was probably the biggest surprise in European football. The team snatched the Spanish championship outperforming FC Barcelona and Real Madrid and was minutes away of winning UEFA Champions League.
Although the season is over, the problems are starting to emerge at Atletico. Spanish media reports the team is about to tear apart as big teams from the continent want to buy most of the starters.
Chelsea is probably going to “rob” Atletico the worst. Marca claims the English side will pay the stipulation severance for Diego Costa and will also acquire Thibaut Courtois. The goalkeeper was loaned from Chelsea and was expected back at Stamford Bridge only the next season. However, his performance this season convinced Jose Mourinho to call him back earlier. Tiago Mendes is the third man from the squad that Chelsea wants.
France Football claims Pep Guardiola followed Godin for a while now and that he wants to transfer him at Bayern Munich, while Miranda became Barcelona's target. The two sides already had a meeting and it looks like Barcelona is willing to pay 20 million euros, but Atletico wants 30.
Spanish media also claims Arsene Wenger wants Juanfran at Arsenal to replace Sagna on the right side, Diego Ribas could end up in Turkey at Fenerbahce, while Koke is being followed by Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Internazzionale and others.
