Gerrard: I don't know if Suarez will be available
The Football World Cup is, for many players, coaches and team staff members, the biggest moments of their careers. Just to qualify for a world event like this is huge and England's manager, Roy Hodgson confirmed it.
“Going to the Euros was previously I guess the biggest moment of my coaching career, now the World Cup I suppose tops the Euros, but they are both fantastic. I've been with the team two years, with the players two years and I feel at home. The World Cup is something we are looking forward enormously and we are determined not to let the opportunity slip by,” said Hodgson.
England will play Uruguay in their second group match, where team mates at Liverpool, Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez could meet. “I don't know if he is going to be available. It's not my main focus. My main focus is to make sure all England players are fit and available to play. Going into that game we are very confident we can get the right result whether Luis is available or not,” said Gerrard.
England will face Italy in their group opened on the 14th of June and five days later will play Uruguay. The last game in Group D will bring face to face England and Costa Rica on the 24th of June.
