Europa League final: Sevilla - Benfica
Turin will once again be rushed by football fans. This time, it has nothing to do with Juventus. Sevilla and Benfica will battle for the UEFA Europa League tonight in the grand final at Juventus Stadium.
Benfica was in last year's final also and lost to Chelsea, but this time, the Portuguese side is ready to take home the trophy. “We have been working on this project for five years. We haven't just reached this point by chance. The fact that we were in last year's final gives us more confidence but it doesn't mean we will win,” said Jorge Jesus, Benfica's coach.
Sevilla won the trophy two times in the last decade so the Spanish side is not unfamiliar with the atmosphere. They even think they know how to crack Benfica. “They lost the final last year and we must press them, make them nervous. Benfica may have more experience them us, but they are not favourites,” said Sevilla's midfielder, Ivan Rakitic.
Benfica and Sevilla have met before just once, more than 40 years ago in a European Cup with Sevilla winning back then with an aggregate 3-1.
