Donovan's response for Klinsmann
Landon Donovan found the best way to respond Jurgen Klinsmann after the German decided not to name him an international for the Football World Cup in Brazil. Donovan scored twice for his team, LA Galaxy.
Donovan was the subject of a controversy last week after failing to reach the provisional team named for the World Cup. He received plenty of support, while US's managed heavy criticism. But, Donovan found a way to surpass the bad news.
He scored twice for his team, the second and fourth goal in 4-1 LA Galaxy victory over the Philadelphia Union. He also became the all time Major League Soccer scorer. With 136 goals, he surpassed Jeff Cunningham with 134.
“It has been a long week. I've sacrificed a lot to be in the position I am in and the support has been overwhelming. You have no idea how many messages I have received, literally thousands of messages from people around the country and around the world,” said Donovan.
Landon Donovan is also the most prolific striker LA Galaxy Ever Head. The 32 year old has led the team by the number of goals scored in 6 different seasons.
