Djokovic and Federer will miss Madrid Masters
Roger Federer is the second biggest name in the ATP Tour to pull out of Madrid Masters after Novak Djokovic. If the Serbian had health issues, Federer had happy reasons. His wife is awaiting the couple's third child.
The Swiss tennis player could also miss Ronald Garros in May, but he did not confirm or infirm at the moment. “I apologise to my fans and hope to be back in Madrid next year. I decided to withdraw from Madrid to be with my wife Mirka during these next few exciting weeks for our family,” wrote the three time champion in the Capital of Spain on Facebook.
Roger Federer is the second big name to pull out of Madrid. The first one to call it was Novak Djokovic. The Serbian said he can still feel pain in his right hand so is bound to rehab two more weeks. These two have won the ATP Masters in Madrid together five times.
The 2014 ATP Masters in Madrid has a poop prize of 3.3 million euros. The winner will be rewarded with almost 700.000 euros and 1.000 ATP points, while the runner up 500 points and 340.000 euros.
