Diego Costa will most likely miss Champions League Final
Diego Simeone has a lot on his mind. Although Atletico Madrid won the domestic competition, everyone has put their eyes on the UEFA Champions League trophy, but Diego Costa's injury spread a lot of panic.
The Spanish striker was a starter in the final round against FC Barcelona, but played less than 10 minutes. He limped out of the pitch and had to be replaced. He made a lot of test immediately after the game that revealed he has a hamstring tear. This injury ruls him out of the UEFA Champions League Final.
However, the exact extent of the tear is unknown. He could be potentially recovered, but the chances are very slim. A normal hamstring tear takes at least two weeks to heal. “We will work to have Diego Costa available on Saturday, but it's really difficult,” said Simeone.
He talked about the final where his team will face local arch rival Real Madrid. “If we talk about percentages, bot teams have a 50 percent chance of winning. Real has better individual players, but we have very motivated player with a big desire. I think we are in similar condition and there will be tight match,” said Diego Simeone.
Costa's injury was not the only one to upset Diego Simeone. Midfielder Arda Turan also sustained a knee blow in the same game against Barcelona and had to be taken out by Diego Simeone, while Argentinian Diego is still in doubt.
