Families of MH370 passengers receive compensation payment
Family members of passengers of the MH370 flight, the missing Malaysian airplane, have received the first part of their compensation payment, worth $50,000.
Relatives of all the 239 jet passengers can claim as much as $175,000 each, as compensation for their loss.
However, many still refuse to believe that their loved ones are no longer alive and have a difficult time accepting the reality. In such cases, the compensation money only worsens their situation as they see it as a nail in their dear ones' coffin.
Some of the relatives formed a group in order to raise $5 million so that they could commence on their own investigation regarding the plane's disappearance.
Meanwhile, the search operation for the plane is still continuing in the Indian Ocean where experts are scanning the sea floor and bringing in specialist equipment.
However, no trace of any kind of debris has been found yet.
