Windows 8 banned in China
Chinese officials have placed a ban on Windows 8 on any of the government's computers.
Users are prohibited to install or use Windows 8 after the tech company announced last month that it will stop offering support for Windows XP which is still largely used in China.
The reason for the ban, according to the official state news bureau, is 'to avoid the awkwardness' of 'a similar situation', like it happened with the XP edition of Windows.
The news will not be received well at Microsoft headquarters as the company already stuggles with low sale numbers in China. Moreover, the country is also currently working on developing its own operating system.
