Netflix is stretching across Europe
The famous provider of on-demand Internet streaming media content announced this week that it will expand its services across the continent in six new countries.
Netflix is already available for viewers in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, UK, the Netherlands and Ireland. Officials at Netflix confirmed the number will go above ten by adding France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and Luxemburg to the list.
“It's official! We will launch in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium and Luxemburg later this year,” was the official announcement made by Netflix US on Twitter. However, no exact dates for launches in each country were disclosed. The company also stated that in the beginning it will have a low monthly subscription strategy, but any other details are scarce.
Netflix services are available also in North and South America and the Caribbean. At the end of 2013, Netflix reported it had more than 40 million subscribers, most of them coming from the USA, about 33 millions.
