Football World Cup in 4K
The Football World Cup 2014 in Brazil set to start in a matter of weeks will be one of so many innovations. One of the things marking the tournament will be technology.
There is no better team than football and HD TV, or is it? FIFA and Sony announced a partnership to bring the best experiences on TV's across the world. Three games will be broadcasted in 4K resolution. It will be for the first time in the history of World Cups of European Cups that 4K technology teams up with football.
A second round game, a quarter final and the big final will be shot and transmitted by Sony in 4K resolution. The Japanese company claims UHD quality will capture the dynamism of each goal, enhance the expression on players' faces and capture the vivid details of each stadium. “We are very excited to offer an entirely new viewing experience at the greatest sport event in the World, the FIFA World Cup. We will deliver a unique and totally compelling entertainment experience,” said Soichi Kawachi, Sony's Vice President in charge of the partnership with FIFA.
Don't worry. If you make it to Brazil, but you will not find any tickets left, Jardin Botanico will be the place to be. Sony and Brazilian TV giant Globo, teamed up and they will install three 65 inch UHD TV's in Rio's neighborhood so that people on the streets could experience Brazilian “futebol” in 4K.
