Facebook – 'The biggest stadium in the world'

Facebook is a global phenomenon and football has passed the barrier of sports long time ago. As the Football World Cup in Brazil is getting closer, Facebook revealed some interesting facts about the platform, football and posts.

 

First, let's make it clear. If you like a football player, club or anything that has to do with the phenomenon, Facebook calls you a fan. Having this in mind, official figures show interesting facts. There are almost 55 million football fans in Brazil (about 70 million accounts), Second to Brazil is the USA with 49 million football fans.

 

In total, there are about 1.2 billion Facebook users, of which 500 million of them are considered football fans. According to the Internet Giant, football fans post more photos, send more messages. Post more updates and videos than an average person. No wonder Facebook called itself “The biggest stadium in the world” so close to the final tournament of the World Cup.

 

The second major platform where football became a phenomenon in Twitter. The tweet per second related to a sports event is held by a football game. In 2012, then Barcelona fought Chelsea, there were 13,684 tweets per second sent out.
