Turcinov wants a referendum
The acting President of Ukraine, Oleksandr Turcinov, talked on Monday about the possibility of holding a referendum on the status of the country, simultaneously with the presidential elections scheduled for May 25, according to the statements of the Parliament.
"We are not against" such an election, Turcinov said at a meeting of leaders of the political groups, saying that "the majority of Ukrainians would vote in favor an indivisible, independent, democratic and united Ukraine."
Separatists from the east side of the country are also asking for a referendum regarding the country's annexation to Russia or a "federalization" of the country.
