Tiraspol accuses Chişinău
Chişinău was accused by Tiraspol that provides for the residents of the left bank certificates, which attest that they do not have a previous nationality, which make it impossible for them to obtain Russian or Ukrainian citizenship, the Transdnestrinform agency reported.
"Over the past two years, the authorities from Chişinău refused, on unfounded grounds, to provide certificates, showing that the citizens do not have a previous nationality," said the Foreign Minister of the separatist regime in Tiraspol, Nina Shtanski.
"The situation has become more difficult after the Moldovan part automatically began to include the applicants of these certificates in the database for Moldovan citizens. This way, right after a Transnistrian is addressing to obtaining such a certificates, they will automatically say that he received the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova," she added, pointing out that in this way the fundamental human right to ethnic self-identification is violated.
According to the Transdnestrinform, inhabitants from the left bank require certificates that certify that they do not have a previous nationality, in order to obtain Russian or Ukrainian citizenship.
