Putin enjoys himself playing ice hockey
Despite all tensions so close to Moscow, President Vladimir Putin found time to play some ice hockey. Known as a sports lover, Putin score 6 goals and provided 5 assists.
Western critics said it is just another episode made up by the Russian president to mock Western powers and show his people how relaxed he really is. “There are no winners or losers here. This is a friendly game. It's a show and everyone enjoyed it,” stated Putin after the event to local media.
Putin wore a red jersey bearing number 11 and led the team of former hockey stars including former NHL players. His team won 21-4 and critics said his team had to win. He was even allowed to score a few times for his personal enjoyment.
Vladimir Putin fought hard in recent years so Russia could host the Winter Olympics in Sochi where he was present at all ice hockey games Russia was involved in. His administration pumped vast amounts of money so the country could also host the FIFA Football World Cup in 2018.
