
Price Harry honors historical WWII battle in Italy
Britain's Prince Harry visited Italy to commemorate the 70th anniversary of a World War II battlefield near Rome. Harry met Allied forces veterans from Poland and New Zealand that took over Monte Cassino decades ago.
Prince Harry, an army captain attended ceremonies to honor Polish, New Zealand and British fallen troops. Official figures say Allied forces lost 55.000 men in the battle for Monte Cassino, while German troops lost 20.000 men. Dressed in his white army uniform with a white jacket, Harry honored stood along Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk at the Polish War Cemetery located near the Abbey of Monte Cassino.
“70 years ago we were able to prove the whole world there is no hill that cannot be attained. It was a fight for out freedom and all the successive generations throughout the world,” Donald Tusk said.
Harry then traveled to Rome where he was received by hundreds of people. He visited the art museum where most of the crowd gathered. The Prince will later today join British veterans and theirs anniversary service.
