Palestinians taxes halt by Israel
Israel plans to block a part of the fees they collect each month in the account of the Palestinian Authority (PA), announced, on Wednesday night, an Israeli government source.
"We intend to retain a part of the amounts paid monthly by Israel to the Palestinian Authority, in response to the unilateral actions of the Palestinian people," said the mentioned source with the condition of anonymity.
"The fact that the Palestinian Authority provides each month large sums of money to the Palestinian prisoners and their families, is a form of support to terrorism. We do not intend to pay the equivalent of money to the Palestinians," the source said.
The Palestinian Authority pays monthly allowances as compensation to each prisoner in Israel, ranging from $400, for sentences of less than three years, and over $3,000, for inmates with a sentence of over 30 years.
