Lukashenko is worried
The Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko talked, on Tuesday, about the worsening crisis in Ukraine, urging its population to defend "by all means" the state independence, according to AFP.
"I don't live on an isolated island in the ocean. All the geopolitical unrest, particularly the ones in Eastern Europe, will touch us, nevertheless," he said in a speech in the Parliament.
"We must defend by all means the independence of the country, the sacred right to live on pur land and follow our destiny," he added, apparently referring to a threat from Russia.
Since the crisis began, Minsk was very reserved towards events in Ukraine and about Moscow's attitude, recognizing only the 'de facto' the annexation of Crimea to Russia.
